The Shammy Awards

The Shammy Video Awards take place annually and honors our students top performances of the year! Out of the 100's of student performances posted on our YouTube channel a year, about 40 of them make it to the final round.

As of 2021, we have changed its format to promote equity, respect and fairness to all students. We will no longer divide awards into traditional male and female categories. Rather students will be recognized by age and/or skill level.

Public votes and video views help towards a higher score, but the winners are primarily selected by a panel of judges that are NOT affiliated with ShamRock. The winners are then awarded with trophies at our Shammy Ceremony!

Congratulations to all who have earned a Shammy and to all that performed throughout the years!

I Need to Know by River of Dreams 9/1/17 BEST SUMMER CAMP PERFORMANCE, MOST VIEWS

Our final summer rock camp of the year featured the band River of Dreams. Our Summer camps meet Monday-Thursday for 3 hours per day and then Friday is the dress rehearsal and performance at Jiggs in Butler. All of our summer camps collected food and raised money for the Pequannock Food Pantry. We would like to thank Travel Limo for providing transportation to the gig for the musicians. The band featured David DaSilva (guitar vocals), Drayton Barrand (guitar), Bella King (keys), Bella Basile (vocals), Amelia Basile (uke, percussion, vocals) and Tyler Salamon (drums). Mike Rodriguez (bass) was our student assistant. The camp was directed by our instructor Vince Genella.

Our teen band uncontrollable debuted their latest cover at this year's Pines Lake Elementary School's Out Picnic. This video is a 2020 Shammy Winner as part of our HALL OF FAME, DECADE Award. Jess Stupski, the lead singer, started taking lessons with ShamRock in 2010 and still is a big part of our family in 2020. She is a valuable member of our staff as our Lesson Coordinator and still performs on stage in various ensembles including our Adult Rock Shop program. Congrats Jess for being with us for a Decade
